Sale of silos and hoppers for pneumatic conveying
Thanks to our long-standing presence in this sector, we are able to offer our customers technical and commercial advices about silos and hoppers for pneumatic transport. These two components are essential for storing and moving materials and must be carefully designed according to production specifications.
Our company sells silos and hoppers designed for pneumatic transport, both for large industrial use and for the needs of small companies and commercial activities. At our premises we also produce customized silos and hoppers, in a wide range of materials and complete with all necessary accessories. Our production complies with strict manufacturing, assembly and control criteria.
Silos for pneumatic transport
A silo is a vertical or horizontal container, installed indoors, outdoors or underground, intended for storage of various substances in powder, liquid, solid or granular form, for a short or long time. In the field of pneumatic conveying, we produce silos in different shapes and materials, from aluminium, steel, fabric and fibreglass. They are mainly used in storage, processing, chemical, ceramic and plastic industries.
TYPES OF SILOS
Fibreglass silos are made of glass fibres in a resin bath and are specially manufactured to provide high thermal insulation. Thanks to steel versatility, it is possible to manufacture food silos and silos to make the most of closed spaces. Fabric, on the other hand, is used to provide oxygenation and great flow to the contained material. Painting, galvanising and internal and external treatments can be applied as protection against atmospheric agents and ultraviolet rays, to increase durability and resistance.
Vertical storage silos can be broadly categorised according to their cross-section (rectangular, circular), the type of bottom (flat, hopper) and the type of construction (monolithic, spiral, panel). The monolithic construction guarantees the absence of bolts, nails or seams, therefore total impermeability and extreme longevity. The hopper is fitted with a conical discharge hopper, allowing it to be completely emptied by gravity into transport machines or vehicles. The hopper can be suspended or supported, so the silo can be skirted (internal hopper and silo continuing to the ground) or elevated (on pillars or support structure and external hopper). Spiral silos have considerable advantages in terms of strength, durability, cost-effectiveness and adaptability to low-flow products. In addition, the absence of joints eliminates the risk of infiltration, prevents corrosion and product stagnation.
SILOS ACCESSORIES
The silos can be equipped with self-cleaning filters, loading pipes, anti-explosion valves, overpressure valves, hatches, bird and insect nets protection, maximum and minimum level indicators, air extractors, ladders, galleries, portholes and railings, ventilation systems, protected accesses for maintenance, side drains, walkways, manual and motorised dampers, vents, anchor bolts, high strength bolts and nails, pneumatic loading attachments, support structures and reinforcing wind rings.
Silos for pneumatic conveying
Technically, these are cylindrical, square or rectangular containers for indoor use, made of iron, aluminium or stainless steel, also equipped with a supporting structure and loading pipes. They are used to increase storage capacity when it is not possible to have a battery of large external silos. The silos are suitable for storing any type of liquid or solid product. We make them in standard sizes or to measure, with the characteristics you need, mounted on wheels, legs or pallets.
STORAGE ELEMENTS: FROM CUSTOMISED DESIGN TO CUSTOMISED CONSTRUCTION
Hoppers for pneumatic transport
The hopper is the component used to collect the material that, coming from above, must be discharged downwards. It has shapes, sizes and accessories depending on the use, but generally takes the form of an inverted truncated pyramid or truncated cone, accompanied by a discharge valve.
We design, manufacture and sell industrial hoppers for storage, dosing, weighing, loading and unloading products. Apply carries out all the necessary construction stages, also from customer drawings. We are able to develop and refine every type of request with the utmost professionalism, at an affordable price.
Our carpentry department starts cutting metal sheets, performs bending and calendering, welding for any fittings, bends, handles, etc.. We have state-of-the-art machinery for turning, galvanising, polishing, satin-finishing, tefloning, micro-bead blasting and pickling. We also produce more elaborate products such as full ceramic fibre insulation. The hopper is a very popular component in many production contexts, such as in meat mincing, food preparation or in cartoning and filling machines. Specific design features are obviously applied depending on the purpose the hoppers are used for.
TYPES OF HOPPERS
LOADING/UNLOADING HOPPERS. They are used to convey different types of material and, depending on the type of material, are built with specific shapes: cone-shaped, pyramid-shaped, offset, of different heights, with variable inclinations. They are mainly mounted on packaging or pneumatic conveying lines.
CONICAL HOPPERS. Generally used in dosing or filling machines for liquid products or products with different degrees of creaminess, food, chemical or cosmetic products.
HOPPERS FOR FLOURS. These are those we produce and commercialize the most. They are usually made of stainless steel because they are corrosion resistant, easy to clean and with high hygiene coefficient. We are often asked for sealed hoppers and hoppers with trolleys. The same hopper can also be used for sugar or other solid or liquid components.
MANTAINING HOPPERS: these are mounted on the processing machines to create a sort of compensation chamber and guarantee the continuity within the production process.
HEATED HOPPERS. Useful when it is necessary to keep the product fluid. They have a cavity where the heating liquid rises.
BAG EMPTYING HOPPERS. For manual emptying of bags containing powdery or granular products; the product is discharged into the hopper and then transferred.
ELEVATOR HOPPERS. It performs both the hopper task and the material elevation by means of a motorized belt, usually for limited height differences.
