Sale of filters for pneumatic conveying

Filters for pneumatic conveying are necessary at various points in the system with essential functions for the proper performance. The first and most important is in the inlet section, where the filters receive the mixture from the pipes and separate the air from the transported substance. Other filters are installed in line and serve to protect machinery, such as the blower, or, mounted on silos, to facilitate aeration, or are used to remove moisture from the pipes.

The filtering action becomes even more fundamental when the system is operating in hazardous areas or when transporting food mixtures. We have a large number of pneumatic conveying filters in our catalogue, which can be purchased separately to meet all requirements.

Reception filters

These allow automatic separation between the product and the transport air. The product is retained by the filter bags, which are regularly shaken and hit with compressed air to release the material and collect it in the hopper. Today fabric filters for gas-solid separation are the industry standard in pneumatic conveying. Considerable improvements have been made in recent years, especially in the development of technical fabrics.

We offer a wide range of receipt filters: normal, ATEX, special corrosion-resistant, high pressures resistant, explosions and flames resistant. Filters suitable for packaging dust and antistatic filters. We can also accessorize them with quick release, control and verification sensors, explosion vent panels, full access and automatic cleaning system.

HOW RECEPTION FILTERS FOR PNEUMATIC CONVEYING WORK

The principle of operation is based on two fundamental mechanisms, which consists in particles removal from the air flow passing through a porous fabric. The more obvious of the two is a “sieving” mechanism. Particles too large to pass through the fabric mesh are captured and retained on the filter surface. Gradually the captured material will form a layer on the surface of the filter, which will increase in size and need to be removed regularly.

The second mechanism called deep filtration is less obvious, but more important for extremely fine particles. It is for this reason that filters are made of a weave of fabrics rather than a single surface. The air flow and material particles are forced to pass through an extremely tortuous path. Sooner or later, the particles will come in contact with the fibres and adhere to them mainly due to van der Waals forces.

To increase the filters performance, a system can be conceived to humidify the fabric, thereby increasing its adhesive properties. Many types of materials are used to produce filters, primarily wool and cotton, also the cheapest. Fibreglass or other synthetic fibres such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyamide or Teflon are used to strengthen resistance to abrasion, corrosive chemicals and high temperatures. In addition, surface treatments are available to improve fibres strength, durability and effectiveness.

Dust suppression filters

Designed to prevent the dust spread during the storage tanks loading and unloading, they also serve to filter the exhaust air, facilitating aeration. They can be made up of various modules, which can be combined as required, in order to intercept dust uniformly, even over very large openings.

The top model we have for sale has the filtering element, compressed air tank, fan, solenoid valves and maintenance access doors in the upper part. In the lower part, which is in contact with the tank protection grid, is the panel for adjusting the inlet speed and the system for reintroducing filtered dust directly into the tank. Each filter can be equipped with an electronic control unit, designed to control the filter automatic cleaning by means of counter-flow compressed air cycles.

FILTERS FOR PNEUMATIC TRANSPORT REDUCE MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS FREQUENCY

In-line filters

In our company you can buy this class of filters for pneumatic transport, which provide additional protection for the system. When air is compressed very quickly, condensation is likely to produce water droplets, which are then transported through the pipework together with air. The removal of this suspended water is done by special filters, which operate similarly to a rotary dryer. The air flowing through the filter is swirled and passed through a series of openings, the droplets are forced outwards and discharged.

Filters to protect machinery that moves air or gas also fall into this category. If, for example, a blower operates in a dusty environment, it is advisable to install a filter to clean the air in the inlet section. To prevent this filter from clogging, causing a detrimental effect on blower performance, it should be replaced or cleaned periodically. Cleaning can be manual or automatic using external air sources.

When the system operation is of primary importance, contact us to purchase in-line backup filters, i.e. additional filters that protect the system in case the main filters break down.
